Highline Leash for Maximum Safety

This leash is crafted with a QUASAR 9.9 mm dynamic rope, enclosed in a 65 ft LEASH LINE tubular polyamide webbing.

The leash features seams at both ends to secure the sleeve around the core rope. These seams help the leash ends form fig-8 knots effectively, while the central core maintains the rope's dynamic properties, ensuring greater comfort during falls.

Ideal Leash Length Options

The standard length of a leash is 130 inches. This length allows for easy tying of two main fig-8 knots at both ends, plus two simple safety knots with the tails, providing enough extra to walk comfortably.

The extra long 142 inches leash is ideal for individuals taller than 5'11" or those who prefer more length for trick-highlining. This extra length is also beneficial for the VORTEX, which requires more length for the knot compared to the aluminum leash rings.

Advantages of Using Two Rings

Forged Aluminum Rings with a breaking strength of 39 kN each should always be used in pairs. This not only enhances the strength but also increases the contact surface on the webbing, effectively dissipating the energy of falls.

We recommend taping the two rings together on the outside with electrical tape to keep them aligned.

Extra Protection with Tubular Sleeve

During a leash fall, the greatest stress occurs at the contact area with the rings. To minimize wear, we suggest adding an 8-inch protection sleeve made of tubular webbing to your leash rope.

Pre-use Safety Checks and Warnings

Before each use, perform a partner check to ensure:

  • The leash is in perfect condition, with no signs of wear;
  • The harness is properly closed;
  • The fig-8 knot is correctly tied to the harness;
  • The ring is correctly inserted into the highline;
  • The fig-8 knot is properly tied to the ring or rings;
  • All knots have sufficient leftover rope (tail), minimum 5 inches.

Remember, our leash is not personal protective equipment (PPE). Always use it under the supervision of an experienced highliner who ensures proper safety measures. As slacklining and highlining lack formal standards, manufacturers, including us, must declare these products as unsuitable for highlining.

Proper Transport, Storage, and Lifespan

Keep your leash away from sharp objects, store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight, and avoid contact with acids or solvents. If exposed to salt, wash it with clean water. Always undo all knots before storing your leash.

Under normal use conditions, the leash follows a lifespan set by the rope manufacturer (CAMP), typically 10 years. However, lifespan can be significantly reduced by exposure to UV rays, salt, ice, and chemicals.

Replace immediately if there are any abrasion marks, cuts, or deformations. Ensure the rings maintain their original shape without deformation, cracks, or signs of wear. Contact us for any needed clarifications.
