Weblocks for Longlines
To set up a longline, a linelock device is essential. The simplest method uses an aluminum ring with a carabiner to secure the webbing. Professional weblocks, with their banana shape, lock the longline using fixed and mobile pins. A well-designed weblock retains over 90% of the longline's breaking strength, compared to a simple webbing knot which reduces strength by 50%.
Weblocks SR for Soft Release
A soft point longline uses two weblocks without a tensioning system like pulleys. To release tension in this setup, a SOFT RELEASE is necessary to avoid reconnecting a pulley system with a brake. SR weblocks integrate the SOFT RELEASE directly, eliminating the need for auxiliary connectors and reducing system weight.
Stainless Steel or Aluminum Weblocks
Weblock plates can be made from stainless steel or aluminum. Stainless steel offers excellent tensile strength and mechanical resistance, enduring repeated stress without losing properties. Aluminum is lighter than steel, providing exceptional traction resistance. Ideal for highline setups where weight is critical, aluminum weblocks save every gram possible.
