SOFT RELEASE for longline and highline
Whether you want to release your longline or highline without using a pulley system brake, or you want to set a "soft point" with a LINEGRIP, you definitely need a SOFT RELEASE.
This SOFT RELEASE is made of low stretch poliester line, with 4 or 10 m lenght to distribute the energy during the release.
Simply wrap the SOFT RELEASE 6 times and connect it with your two shackles on each side. Attach your linelock on the opposite side of the sewn black loop inside and block it after with the strap.
The SOFT RELEASE closure is a high tenacity velcro strap which is also sewn, in order to not lose it during installation.
Using The SOFT RELEASE is very easy and can also be useful to pre-tension your line.
Which is the right SOFT RELEASE length?
The initial part of the SOFT RELEASE has a black tubular sleeve to protect against pinching inside a shackle.
Choose the SOFT RELEASE based on the length and stretch of your webbing:
7 m for longlines up to 90 m
13 m for longlines up to 150 m
Our recommandations:
WEBBING | SR 7 m | SR 13 m |
FLY / EDGE / PLASMA (<4% @10KN) | 90 m | 150 m |
TENDER / ZAO / JUMBO / COSMIC (<8% @10KN) | 60 m | 100 m |
NYLOVE / JOKER / DONKEY (<15% @10KN) | 35 m | 60 m |
SOFTERELEASE with special length
With extremely long lines (over 150 m) or with a high stretch webbing (Nylon), the SOFT RELEASE 13 m lengthh may not be sufficient. Contact us and we might be able to offer you a SOFT RELEASE with your personal length.
WARNINGS
You must use the sewn loop of the green webbing to connect your main shakle. You should never attach the pin's surface side of your shakle to the opposite end of the Soft release ( without the sewn loop ). When the webbing slides over the pin during the relase period of your SOFT RELEASE, the pin could rotate and worst case even completely disconnect from the shackle and ejecting your soft release entirely.
On the sewn loop of the SOFT RELEASE you can both use the bow side or the pin side of the shackle.
