Steel Carabiner oval screw nut for Slackline
This slackline steel carabiner is the perfect connector to use in a primitive slackline system. The screw nut closing prevents accidental opening. The galvanized surface avoids rust formation in moist environments.
Its oval shape is perfect to roll up the slackline on its shiny and smooth surface. The sandblasted surface reduces friction to a minimum during the sliding and provides a superior shiny look.
How to use these carabiners? Primitive and Rodeo lines ?
The oval shape is designed to be used for linear loads, for example when you create a primitive pulley system with your slackline.
This carabiner has a KEY-LOCK system (catch-free) so the contact point between the gate and the body is completely smooth, without any hook for the gate lever. The KEY-LOCK system avoids to any damage to the webbing when you are opening or closing the gate.
Why carabiners should be used only with uni-axial loads?
These carabiners are designed to link two elements, working only with uni-axial loads on the rounded part of the carabiner.
If you use a carabiner as the main anchor of your longline, with a sling around the tree, you are working with tri-directional loads. This way is allowed only with less than 5 kN working load limit (equivalent to the strength of a person pulling a primitive system) and with a working angle for the slings around the tree lower as 30°.
Can I use the carabiner in a Primitive System with a webbing longer than 50 m?
No, with a 50 m slackline you'll certainly exceed the maximum working load allowed for these carabiners.
If you want to use a slackline longer than 50 m, you have to replace the carabiner with a SHACKLE, suitable for tri-directional load.
Warning
Remember to always close the screw nut before use and to open it only at the end of use. This carabiner is not compatible with 50 mm webbing. Do not use it for trickline or jump lines. Do not use this carabiner for climbing.
Do not exceed 5 kN working load limit in the system. Do not exceed a working angle of 30° forthe slings around the tree. In case of any doubt, replace carabiner with a SHACKLE designed for tri-directional loading.
